Man Playing Drum

A labor of love through patience and care.

If you would like to book Chaka for a 2 days event for a community drum birth, this is for you!

Inspired by the Andean drums Wankar or Tinya, this drums have been used for all purposes from important ceremonies connecting with the spirits, front lines on battlefields and the most important celebrations.

The complete process of creation and "birth" of your drum takes a day and a half where we usually (with the support of a sacred fire) split it in to two parts:

The creation process: here we ensamble the different energies to build and give birth (Arpi) to the drum. We create deep connection and awareness between you and the spirit of the tree and animal used for your drum, tightening the cord more and more to stretch the drum head until it becomes his own voice and heart beat.

The connection: you will learn how to find balance and flow between your inner rhythm and (re)connect with your drum and soul. You will be guided to become one with your drum, by learning how to open yourself up and release blockages. ⁣You will learn how to Rehumanise yourself.

We honour that the lands where we gather and work are ancestral lands, some also home to First Nations peoples for millennia. Some of the words we share come from the teachings of Kichwa and Panzaleo people of the Andean regions in Ecuador. We extend respect and gratitude to their Elders past, present and emerging, and to their enduring bond with the land. At ARPI we recognize the interdependence of all life. Living in harmony means unity, solidarity and empathy. When we remember that we are part of the Earth and not its owners, the path to a just and compassionate future opens. We welcome dialogue, feedback and collaboration as we walk together. Our terms and conditions can be found within the following link: Terms & Conditions
